Preliminary construction continues at US 380 and US 75

Preliminary construction on the expansion of US 380 at US 75 has begun at the busy intersection in McKinney, which should be completed in 2010.

Texas of Department of Transportation and Texas Sterling Construction Co. crews will also work on the expansion of the lanes of US 75 at US 380. Utility poles along the east and west service roads of US 75 have been taken down to allow for crews to widen US 75.

Electronic message boards have also been placed in both directions along U.S. 75 and U.S. 380 to notify the public of the scheduled closure. During the closure, northbound U.S. 75 traffic will be diverted to the frontage road. Contractor personnel will also be present to help move motorists through this area.

TxDOT and Texas Sterling Construction Co. would like to apologize in advance for any inconvenience, and thank area drivers, local businesses, the city of McKinney , and Collin County for their continued patience and cooperation as crews work diligently to complete this project as soon, and as safely, as possible, TxDOT officials said.
