City of McKinney hires new assistant to the city manager
Aretha Harvey of Fremont, Calif. chosen to join city leadership team
McKinney City Manager Frank Ragan announced the hiring of Aretha Harvey to the Assistant to the City Manager position that has been vacant for about a month-and-a-half.
Harvey is an ICMA Local Government Management Fellow and is currently a Management Analyst for the City Manager’s Office in Fremont , Calif. She will start July 6.
“Aretha brings the right mix of experience, skills, abilities and a customer service philosophy that will make her an excellent addition to the City Manager’s Office. This position is crucial to the operations of city staff, and we anticipate great things from Aretha’s addition to our team,” said Ragan.
In addition to her work in Fremont , Harvey has experience working with the District of Columbia Government, serving in several roles including Special Assistant to the Mayor and Research/Legislative Analyst, and with the City of Tallahassee, Fla. in the City Manager’s Office and the Office of Budget and Policy. She holds a Master of Public Administration from American University and Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Florida A&M University .
