Jammin’ In July free concerts begin July 9 at Towne Lake in McKinney

Series to feature musical acts every Thursday in July

People will get the chance to dance, sing and be entertained for free at the city of McKinney's Jammin' in July concert series that returns to Towne Lake Park each Thursday night in July .

The line-up includes the Quebe Sisters on July 9, the Gumbo Kings on July 16, Havana NRG on July 23 and Alpen Musiktal on July 30. Concert attendees are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs or a picnic basket, but alcohol is not allowed in city parks. The bands will perform from 7:30 to 8:30 at Towne Lake Park on a portable stage that will be located near the sand volleyball pit on the north side of the park at at 1405 Wilson Creek Pkwy., immedialy south of McKinney High School.

“Last year, we had hundreds show up for this free concert series. The music this year is a unique mix from area groups, and we know that residents will love what we have in store for them this year,” said Recreation Superintendent Charlie Bryant. “We’re excited to have another unique opportunity to bring people out to our parks, and to enjoy our wonderful sense of community as we listen to great music,” Bryant said.

The Jammin’ in July series is a collaborative effort of the McKinney Parks, Recreation and Open Space Department and the Creative Arts Alliance.
