Lions Club, McKinney Fire Dept. to give away fans to needy on July 8

The McKinney Lions Club is partnering with the McKinney Fire Department to provide fans to those in need during these extremely hot temperatures from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on July 8 at the Central Fire Station, 301 N. McDonald St.

“This is something that we see families and individuals faced with every year and it’s part of our mission in meeting their needs”, says McKinney Lions Club President Danny Wolf.  The Lions mission nationwide is summed up as “We Serve,” and serve they do.

Volunteers will be on hand from many community agencies and the Lions to provide the fans.

The McKinney Fire Department, through Fire and Life Safety Specialist Stacie Durham, is providing all the support necessary to make this event a success.  Combining their expertise and support agencies within the community guarantees a big day for those in need.  The fire department will also have information available on fire and life safety and even brief tours of the facility.

The McKinney Lions Club has been in operation since 1920 and continues to do great work for our community.  The club always welcomes visitors to its weekly Wednesday meeting/luncheons at Eldorado Country Club.
