Former commissioner for Pct. 3 candidate Victor Manuel announces he will run for same seat in 2012

Former Democratic candidate for the Collin County Commissioner for Pct. 3 Victor Manuel announced on Monday that he will run again for the pct. 3 seat on the Democratic ticket in 2012.

Manuel lost his bid for the commissioner seat to incumbent Commissioner for Pct. 3 Joe Jaynes, who ran on the Republican Party ticket and won the election by receiving 70 percent of the votes. Jaynes' new four year term will begin in January, 2009.

Manuel said in an e-mail on Nov. 10 that the recent campaign was a humbling experience and that he would be back in 2012 running for office.

"It's been a humbling experience, and I am much the wiser for knowing each of you. To those of you who asked, yes I will be back in 2012 for the County Commissioner's race. Precinct 3 is still growing, and I do feel we can make a difference here," Manuel said in an e-mail he sent on Nov. 10.

Manuel and other Democratic candidates who recently ran for office will host a campaign training session for the next wave of Democratic candidates who want to run for office in 2010 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Dec. 6 at Collin College's Central Park campus in room J109. The fee to attend the session is $25 and that includes breakfast and lunch. To reserve a spot in the session send an e-mail to votevictor@gmail.com .
